The Garfield County Fair & Rodeo is excited to host the A Great Northern A'Fair carnival for the second straight year. The Mattfeldt Family has been involved in the outdoor amusement industry for more than 40 years. Vern "Swede" and Rene Mattfeldt, Montana and North Dakota natives, were active with the Montana State Fair in Great Falls. In 1996, Swede & Rene, along with son Tim and daughter-in-law Dana, created the carnival, which services Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
A Great Northern A'Fair strives to provide safe, fun attractions, and rides that are geared toward family budgets. Its amenities include: covered rest areas, picnic tables, table tops, park benches, and more. The Mattfeldt Family has served the needs of major county fairs throughout the Rockies, the National Hockey League (NHL), Scottsdale Princess Resort, Destination Managers, Mesa Air Show, Super Bowl XXX, and numerous city, town, school and church festivals and fiestas.
